Loving Your Choices
The future is made of the same stuff as the present.
Simone Weil,
20th century French writer
Being a conscious bride takes courage. A woman steps into a spotlight when she becomes a bride. Emotions bubble as her essential self emerges. This is the design of the rite-of-passage: to shake us up a bit, to have us question how we have formed our life and our choices for the future. Like any period of inquiry, this can be unsettling at first; yet it is the nature of change, to inspire an inner awakening. Trust the process. Use this time in the bridal spotlight to find your quiet center. From that more settled place, your emotions won’t be so apt to bubble over; you become less reactive, more creative.
I find that a woman’s intuition is enhanced as a bride. A perfect opportunity, then, to listen to that instinctive wisdom that’s naturally inside you, letting it guide your choices, bringing ease into your mind, body and spirit. Choose. Then love what you choose. Move on to the next decision and choose, remembering to love the choices you make.
In my experience of working with thousands of brides, I recognized that how women “be” in planning their wedding is how they will “be” in their marriage. Therefore when you find yourself a bit overwhelmed and the to-do list keeps getting longer—pause—take a deep breath, then choose what you truly desire by listening to your wiser, more aware self. This is the woman to carry into your marriage.
Participating in this rite-of-passage links you to a heritage of other courageous women and sets your unique imprint upon those who will follow. Through these ancient rituals provided for us, we are able to reconnect with that lineage of mystery and wisdom; it is there you will find yourself. Then choose from there, loving your choices. |
