The Ritual of Self - Mothers & Daughters

Weddings are a rite-of-passage as much for the mothers of brides and grooms as it is for the couple. In this issue of Weddings of Grace, with the feature of Mothers & Daughters & Weddings, we tell a brief story of three weddings (can the full story of a wedding ever be told?) in the voice of the mothers-of-the-bride. As these mothers and daughters plan a wedding together, they support the other’s rite-of-passage.

Weddings are about transformation—a shift in the outer landscape of one’s life that reflects one’s inner growth. One delightful way this outer transformation is represented for mothers and daughters is in the world of costume! When the intuition of your heart selects your costume—the results enchant!
