Deep Easy Breathing

Give yourself the gift of relaxation during everyday moments. While looking at bridal magazines, wrapping presents, or writing thank you notes, pay attention to your breathing. Take deep, long inhales and slow, soft exhales. Notice the difference it makes…you'll begin to feel more settled, more centered, more YOU!
Also give your body some attention as you do these kinds of passive activities. Where are you tense, tight, contracted, clenched-up? Take a deep breath into that area and let go as you slowly exhale. Keep breathing into the tense area until it releases.
Here's a tip: After taking a deep inhale, release tension by turning your exhale into a long, soft, lingering sigh. (And if someone hears you, they'll just think you're having a romantic moment!)
To deepen the relaxation even more while during your tasks, play soothing music in the background or use headphones for more intimacy. Then it becomes less like more "to do" and more like a meditative time where you get things done while relaxing.
Notice how much more ease you have when you add some simple, calming practices to your everyday life. Being more at ease helps you enjoy your wedding activities more — and stay present to love. Ahhh…life just got less complicated!
- Right now as you are reading this, notice your breathing. Is it shallow or perhaps you're even holding your breath! Remember to breatheeeeeeeee. Like my friend and Feldenkrais instructor Lavinia Plonka says, "If you notice you're not breathing, then hold your breath for a couple of counts and let your body remember." Deep, easy breathing helps you relax and a more relaxed bride-to-be is a more beautiful bride!
